- Describe ways in which you feel like Arjuna.
When I am doing work I feel like arjuna because it’s something I just have to do. This is the same concept as Arjuna because of what arjuna is. Arjuna is the concepts of even if something sucks and you don’t want to do it you have to and after wards you will be better for it.
2. How could you specifically apply the message of theBhagavad Gita? There are several ways to apply the message of the bhagavad gita. The first way is for when you don’t want to do something because it will be hard do it anyways because you will be better for it. You can also apply it to duty. For example you might not want to vote but you do it anyways because as someone who has the right it is your duty to vote.
3. How would the ancient Indian perspective of the Bhagavad Gita be VERY different than the 21st Century American perspective of doing one’s duty.
The ancient Indian’s perspective would be very different from the modern perspective. This is because for ancient Indians serving their king and playing their part in caste system was very important for them. If they did their duty they would be reborn in a higher class in the next life.
4. Now, venture back to ancient India. Think of a way the Bhagavad Gita could be used as a tool of oppression
The bhagavad gita was used as a tool of oppression. It was used a a tool of oppression by insisting people lived lives working for the common good no matter what situation in life they were in. This was only true for the lower classes. That is because the idea of the royal class was that they had been reincarnated and had gotten to that spot in life by being good citizens. The reality was the higher class was just lucky and tried to motivate the lower class to work by saying the next life would be better.
